The Senior Spotlight originated in April 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic ended high school student-athletes' senior seasons. The goal has been to give each senior their moment in the sun that the pandemic stole. This doesn’t replace the feeling a senior gets walking onto the field and hearing their name called one last time. However, it does a good job of highlighting their accomplishments and getting to know each athlete better. Though the pandemic hasn’t canceled any season(s) so far, The Senior Spotlight is returning for season 3 in the coming weeks.
